Take me to Cheyenne (B-17G)

Post by japme »

Started looking for a new project, and after having just binged Masters of the Air...

I decided to do something a bit older than my norm... the B-17, in this case, the B-17G, with the Cheyenne tail gun configuration.

This is about a week and a half of work so far...

Thanks! It has been pretty smooth sailing so far. I want to get all of the mirrored details roughed in, before I weld both halves together and start working on the offset structures and details.

Roughed in the exhaust/turbo-superchargers today...

Cowling flaps Tuesday or Wednesday, if schedule allows!

Wright Cyclone R-1820s added!

Used the PW2800 from my Corsair as a template and then built the new engine over it. Not completely accurate (at least for now), but pretty realistic looking and has all the major design elements there.

Cut in all the openings along the wing's leading edge, as well as the vents behind the engines on the upper surface.
