Sunderland International Air Show takes place once again this year on the Roker and Seaburn seafront in North East England, on the weekend of the 26th of July. Exhibitors at the show- Voted Englands best tourism experience will include representatives from as far afield as Belgium and The Netherlands. The ever popular Red Arrows and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be making their appearances once again, and RFA Lyme Bay will be returning to the region to participate in a multi-force Role Demonstration with the RAF, Navy and Royal Marines.

For those of you following Naval operations and events, a few Navies of the world got together for Bold Monarch, a submarine rescue exercise event.
Of special note was the attendance of the US Navy and the SRDRS (yours truly involved with the design) and NATO's NSRS (joint venture with Rolls Royce, Perry Slingsby...).
To my knowledge the NSRS did not make any personnel transfers, however the SRDRS made transfer of 96+ personnel over the event.
Autodesk announced yesterday that they are to release two versions of 3DS Max in the very near future.
3DS Max 2009 is the standard version that has had regular incremental updates every year since being acquired by Autodesk a few years ago. This update appears to be little more than a bug fix or service pack as there are no really new features with this release. Major updates include Reveal, a new rendering system designed to allow artists more control over the render by selecting which components to render. Also updated are the animation and mapping toolsets, and better integration with the file formats of other Autodesk products. Further details can be found here.
